im using my jailbroken iphone abroad (USA) and most of the time i am travelling by car so i want to know if i can buy a simcard overthere and then use my TOMTOM app without any problem?

If you have unlocked it should be no problem, and do you have the usa tomtom app installed lol, uk wont work.
