Hi,

As for the amplitude - it's obviously 5V. As for the frequency - I would start with around 200Hz and end with lower kHz range.

Signal generator ... any kind with square wave output 5V amplitude....

Hmm... I think yes. Sometimes it works even with a wire connected to the ground - the connection is not stable and generates pulses.

The solution we're talking about is not the proper one. TMS374 programmer is the right way. Reseting the ECU via pulses is always a tricky job.
