Customer has a defect ecu, is it possible to swap the eprom (if inside) with another same ecu, will the car start again? Or do i need to read/write the flash also?

Best is to clone full BDM.
But if ECU have same bosch number will be enought to swap eeprom.

If both ecu NR,SW all same , swap eep enough.
IF flash have little different , only try away ....... if after try ,same trable up, so..........only full clon or reset and then agane programming.
