all keys lost...vvdi identified it as cas3/cas3+....it did not mentioned about downgrading like it usually does

At this point before with another BMW what I did to resolve it on my launch scanner was go under the e l v function to reset and it worked but it's not working on this car

Sync CAS/DME, sometimes need to clear fault first then proceed, if it doesn't clear then remove battery 5 mins and then clear and sync, this is not common but can happen.

I just did car like that, all keys lost. Started in seconds with BMW Explorer and yes, since this car is CAS3+, you need ISN from ECU to program keys or EGS data. I am not aware of any other solutions.

It never asked key me to downgrade the CAS like in other situations.
Here are my files. you can see my key in the #7 file.

This is a regular, plaintext data CAS3, with a two-byte ISN. If the ECU is original, syncing ought to be enough to start. Follow @rivalryan's advice. :)

I am so frustrated with this situation. I tried resetting and syncing after battery disconnect with no luck!

anyone out there who had the same issue please

Did you actually manage to clear fault code in DME or not? once cleared do not try and start until sync. Check ISN bytes in CAS/DME if you did manage to clear code in DME and sync

Yes I did clear fault with no keys in the ignition because I noticed the code comes back up when the key is inserted..I am using VVDI2 to program. when i try to sync to with vvdi2 is says is not possible when i try with both versions.

it does read out the sync bytes but what do I do with?

you will surely start the car around Christmas:)
you do not read good posts first and do not give complete answers for the car,
and you did not show any thank to any of our colleagues,
and the biggest problem is why you can not start a car
you think you know something

in fact you do not know anything;)

@doctore can you describe it how 64 switch on off ??
Do you need to turn it off and remove key from ignition before to Start next cycle on/off? Or key always stays on ignition during all 64-cycle procedure ?? Is it a waiting time on ON position and another waiting time on OFF position ? Thank you

I don’t know how the VVDI works but if you have a good scanner just go to special functions or service, and click on DME sync. It should work. I can hook up a scanner to one of my cars and take a video of the process in the morning if it helps. Let me know. Good luck.
