Better fix that. Disabling it is not a solution.

Its not possible. You can make coding on those E series which was without that sensor in earlier versions/or newer. Disabling dtc will not show codes in diag, but you will have information on dash or TV

Hello friends, I have the same problem in a BMW 330D E60.

I have disabled the dtc in the ecu but it still shows the failure of the oil level sensor in the idrive "BROKEN OIL LEVEL SENSOR!", Within the "CHECK-CONTROL NOTICES" menu.

Does anyone know what options I should activate/deactivate in the coding with NCS_EXPERT so that the idrive would stop showing the warning, please?

Thanks.

PS: This vehicle has a dipstick to be able to look at the oil level in the engine manually and the customer is the one who requests this cancellation.

Do not compare old museum engine of 318IS and modern diesel M57xx.
Thermal oil sensor is useful and important part of engine - temp of oil is necessary value for right engine woriking.
If we speak about modern engines. Not ancient devices.
