X Trail 2001 ECU replacement, ignition on for 2 hours

Hello fellow members,

I'm kind of new into the trade, I need your assistance in completing a particular job.

I'm about to help a friend who happened to replace an ECU on his Nissan X-Trail 2001. He is needing my help to reset the ECU, so he can use his existing keys,

I have an OBDSTAR DP Key Maker in my possession. ( making transponders with VVDI Key maker )



Can some one tell me this device is capable to reset/re-initialize the ECU?

Do I need a pin code prior to this? Also, in what circumstances do we need to turn the ignition on for 1-2 hours to sync an ECU? Does this method apply in this situation?

Old type ecu autorization go rewrite key away,like PSA group car.
Or copy/paste ecu eep ,if no help, full clon bdm away.
