works great.

Here's how to turn on your PC in approx 10 seconds (varies from PC-to-PC)

>Go to run

>Type Regedit

>Press enter

>This will open Registry Editor
Now look for the key

HKEY_LOACAL_MECHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\ContentIndex

>Here you'll find the Key Called "Startup Delay"
>Double Click On It
>Now where its Base
>Click Decimal
>Now its Default Value Is 4800000 (75300:hexadecimal)
>Change The Value To 40000

There u go, you've have done it
Now close the Registry Editor and Restart Your Computer

Hi

Tried wot u sed. PC became faster by 20 seconds !!! So thank you for that. No more waiting around having to find something to do while the PC is switching on!! Is it possible to make that value even lower to make the PC even faster !!!

Hi, are there any downsides to this? I mean why exactly is it set up with start-up delays in the first place?

Don't suppose anyone would happen to know of a Vista equivalent ?

sounds too good to be true...

just had a quick search:

"Delay to let system start before initiating Indexing Service. Cannot be overridden by an identically named entry under the Catalog subkey for a specific catalog. "

found here Main Registry Entries (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms692119.aspx)

sounds rather disprooved to me!

HOLY MOLY! I just did this on my Asus EEE PC 901 and it worked! it knocked off at least 10 seconds on startup! I have indexing disabled.

Would it cause any problems in the long run that anyone knows about?
