New to forum so thank you all for this great resource. I own a 2006 full size US version Range Rover HSE with the 4.4 Jag engine. Truck was built in April 2005. 2006 was a transition year for the RR (still a lot BMW and some Ford) and I still have the older style Lollipop fob (not the cartridge). I have lost my spare key and as usual the LR dealer 200 miles away wants me to bring the car in and spend $500 plus tax to get a single new key. I have bought 2 new fobs off ebay with electronics and NXP PCF7936 ID46 transducer inside. The keys are cut and work the locks, remotes have been programmed to work alarms and remote unlock but dealer refuses to program the ID46 chips so the key will turn the ignition. I don't mind investing in some programming gear to try and achieve this myself but am not sure what to buy as my 2006 has the newer YMC500233 Immobilzer box by Lear and the chip on the board is 9S12DG128 _ 3L40K (pic attached). Will the Ak90 do this? Some other programmer? Was the 2006 system still EWS?

Worst case, if I have to, I don't mind disabling the Immo functionality permanently at the box but would need advice on how to do this? I do have one working original key.

A thousand thanks in advance for any help with this!

Alyn

You need programmer to read 3L40K MCU secured and another key programmer to make PCF7936.

If you want to make youself: VVDI prog + VVDI2
