Hi,
I had Land Rover Discovery 3 TDV6 year 2008 instrument cluster from a customer which was unrepairable. MCU wasn't driving one of the pointer motors.
I bought replacement cluster with the exact same numbers, same SW, HW etc and I physically swapped the EEPROM 080D0WQ. I thought that everything is in the EEPROM but customer just rang me saying this cluster has a different VIN and immo is kicking in, so he can't start the engine.
He spoke to some Land Rover specialist who told him that once it's paired with another vehicle it can't be programmed to another one, which I believe is not true.
Can anyone help me with that matter? I read somewhere that you need to download CCF file from old IPAC and flash it to the new one, but what tool can do it?
I have SMOK JTAG, Carprog, Xprog but none of them can do RENESAS 64F2638F20V (H8S/2638).
Any help appreciated, as always I'm happy to pay for help.
Thank you.

Yes I do, although as I said, I didn't flash it, just desoldered from original cluster and soldered into the spare one.

Just transfer processor and eeprom to second hand dashbord

Thanks vokinn. I'd normally do that, simple, but can you tell me what to use to read write Renesas H8S/2638?
I'm currently reading
https://www.renesas.com/eu/en/products/software-tools/tools/programmer/flash-development-toolkit-programming-gui.html#productInfo
and trying to understand something, find any info where/how to buy etc.

Thank you for trying to help kachimbi but you haven't read my post.
The MCU is faulty. PJ6/PWM2G in PORT J is shorted internally to PJ7.

Hey guys, it's myth about swapping the MCU. According to Renesas datasheet, the MCU has only internal flash not eeprom. It's not possible to have immo data in the flash as it can't be programmed from outside. Everything should be in the external EEPROM

No. Customer managed to get a new instrument cluster from Japan, they only had a few left.
