I dont know that id trust it.
Even the technical reasons aside (ive discussed them elsewhere) this c4eva guy seems to be full of shit.
For instance he was entirely adamant that it wasnt his firmware that was the cause of the ban.
Theyre not detecting his firmware, theyre detecting bad burns, the scene is to blame, abgx is to blame everyone else is to blame.
This doesnt seem to get round the fact that there are a number of documented cases of people picking up a new unit, flashing again and geting banned before a disk even got inserted.
Then theres the entire "i now know how microsoft are able to ban people" farce, still waiting to hear more on this revelation.
Not to mention his stoic claims that the new firmware is invisible and undetectable (much like he claimed the last one was) with some elementary straightforward math proving this conclusively to be a falsehood.
Untill he comes forward with some irefutable proof then i'll continue to see him as nothing mre than a charlatan and a hack. Any "evidence" provided thus far has been anecdotal at best.

I for one know that the console flashed without playing a bad disk is true.
Which made me realise for a fact it was firmware issue.
Samsung 1.51 flashed and instantly banned. Nothing played.

Would it be possible to get a translation of this into English? or some other langauge that makes sense?

I think (and this is only assumption) that hes expressing his distaste at people modding, getting banned then whining about it.
That c4eva doesnt state that you "need" to mod.
The problem is that i like several others have not actualy been banned. Purely down to the fact we dont have boxes modded to play pirate games in the first place.
My criticism of c4eva has absoloutly no basis in me personaly being banned. i merely pointed out the fact that the guy is completely and utterly full of shit.
The viewpoint i hold is common throughout the modding community of REAL modders who have absoloutly NO DESIRE to play pirate... i mean "backup" games.
I know several individuals (essentialy anyone with an elementary grasp of computer science) who could release a firmware update overnight to allow you to circumvent copy protection, it doesnt further our agenda however so what would be the point?
My interests lay with running custom unsigned code on the unit, wether i can play Tekken 47 hd EX2 is of little to no consequence to me.
Being able to install and run XBMC, custom dashboards, homebrew, linux and the ability to develop my own custom software (outside of the severely gimped XNA studio farce) without having to sit in a boardroom and present my concept for "approval" then throw down a few grand to develop for the platform.
The point is that c4eva is disreagrded by the majority of the modding community for being exactly what he is, a glorified pirate. His input is more harmful to the forwarding of modders agendas than it is of any actual benifit.
So you might now be wondering why the interest at all? simple, people got banned in large numbers and before any full scale legitimate modding can take place we need to figure out exactly how this took place, this way when we release a legitimate mod (ie: one not geared towards allowing children to pay games without having to pay for them) we can do so without getting millions of individuals banned for being able to to do perfectly legitimate things.

Spoken like a true modder.
Be interesting to see how long it does take to break the backbone of the new chipsets allowing mods that we have seen from previous times.
I have kept a few broken consoles here for purposes such as this.
Hoping that soon enough these chips can be reprogrammed with the vital data to stem banning and etc.
I may even delve a bit deeper into unknown territorys myself. But i have a lot more reading up to do in that respect.
But guys like yourself Chroma can only lead us in the right direction
Thanks

You discussed this last night. I know of a few people who escaped the ban last year. Where everyone else had been done
This happens all the time.
Think yourself lucky but look into what chroma posts from now on because its guys like this that can do the real damage that MS do not need.

You make it sound like reverse engineering console dvd drive firmware is easy. Lots of people have an elementary grasp of computer science but nobody except him has been able to succeed so far. A lot of groups could not do it and still use his base code (although so far there has only been 1 non-c4e release). Whether he has inside info remains to be seen.
