I have a customer who has bought a 2008 Volvo V50. Everything works OK except the radio does not work on AM. FM is OK. It is the later model with the antenna(s) going directly into the main module ie. no seperate AFM module on the (estate cars) boot floor. The module is behing the waterfall front and display.

Radio/CD module part number(s):
1CD17A 31266762

Correct me if I am wrong but these are Vin coded??? There seem to be plenty of cheap 2nd hand units for sale but their low prices seem to tell me that they probably wont work and need some work to clone???

Does anyone know if the data I need to clone is in a MCU or EEPROM??? I have read there is an EEPROM in the tuner. If anyone has any info I would be gratefull.

Cheers...

Have you figured out the answer to your question yet?

I have purchased a replacement radio 1CD17A for my volvo s40 and it seems to work for 5 seconds but stops after that and disables the volume and tune dials.
I do not know if these require coding and keep trying to find the solution. It looks like you could have already figured it out so... fingers crossed you could let me know :)
