strange focus airbag module

Hi

Need a bit of help here, i got a ford focus year 2000 airbag module that needs the crash data clearing.
The weird thing i opened it up and there is no motorola MCU and no eeprom. So i dont know which chip to read to get the dump...
Numbers are BOSCH 0285 001 248 and 98AG 14B056 AF

I have been though airbag resetter and many other airbag programs to see where the dump is located but these numbers dont match any. none of the programs go back as far as 0285 001 248 just 0285 001 3xx
I have not done a focus before that does not have at least a motorola or eeprom inside

Not at the workshop just now mate .. but I'm sure the option is there...

In UPA exist CR16MFS not CR16MFR.
So i don't think that UPA will read,

Just found this info on internet.

CR16 MCU and those generations allow for up to 3 or 4 crashes. New parts that were deployed will enable the controller again.

Is this true.
As i didnt even think of reading the fault codes on the module. just assumed the crashdata would need clearing as normal!

i cant understand why this focus module does not appear on any of the crash data removal programs.
I will erase faults with my x431 and see what i am left with.

Its worth trying...because some VW with CR16 are possible to clear with just clearing DTC.
I have no idea if UPA can read this MCU ,but Xprog-M does do the job.
BTW: I thought that i saw a K-line solution for CR16 airbags on the net, I dont remember where.

I looked in upa and the CR16MFR5 option is not on there,but is it possible to read as one of the other options?

Once i get all the pretentioners in the car and airbags i will try to clear with my diagnostic tool and see what happens!

But if UPA dont read... You know of a cheap programmer for this mcu.
Im seriously thinking of getting xprog-m,but its so dear! But seems well infront of UPA.Dont know what it cost for full packages Maybe santa will bring me one:santaclaus:

Just for reference and thread bumping reasons

had a vauxhall, think it was vectra-c, not sure, the DFBS (Dumb Fcuk Body Shop) had put new seatbelt and side hairbag in, no clear, faults, unplug to new parts, cleared, said 'open circuit', plugged new bits in, cleared and hi ho silver away.

If you can read it adam send dump. Ford is always easy to clear.

Dont know if you can help me here but here goes!

Im having some trouble reading that CR16MFR

I connect the +12,GND and K-LINE to the small plug of the airbag module and also B4 of xprog-m to ENVO on the PLCC44

This is the connection im using although i connect to pin 2 for ENVO(PLCC44) as this picture is a PQFP80. and ENVO is pin 13

Have you read the CR16MFR like this before?

PS just tried the other connection and still dont read


All i get is bootloader initalizing error

I have found out xprog m will not support cr16 PLCC44. Straight from the horse mouth.

These CR16MFR are a fcuking nightmare!

Finally i have managed to erase this CR16MFR from the focus Airbag module.

I bought a clone of smoks crash eraser from here.Crash Eraser,Crash Eraser (http://www.carsung.net/EN/ProShow.asp?ProID=714)
70 pound.
Actually its pretty well made and alot cheaper than smok(380euros)
