Hi,

I have a Renault Master III 2014 2.3 DCI 125hp with semi automatic sequential gearbox that i need to tune, but KESS v2 (chinise clone, red reworked PCB) give me all sort of problems during read/write. So here is my config:

HW: 2265R
SW: 1037539024
VIN nr.: VF1MLJ3SC50718427
SW ver.: 4134R
Spare:
Engine:
HW Ver.:
SW upg.: 4504R

Hardware: Windows 10 x63 PRO Laptop
Kess v2 (chinise clone, reworked red pcb) v 5.017
Software: K-Suite 2.47.

The ODB method:

First of all Kess dosen't have this particular vehicle on it's list. There is a bunch of Master III 2.3 DCI but none of them have a combination - 2.3 DCI 125 hp + 6AT gearbox on EDC17C42. All models with 125 hp have EDC17C11 according to K-Sutie this model does not exist. So I try to read data on EDC17C42 150 HP 6AT, but right after read and file save k-suite gives me checksum error. File is readable but all checksums are messed up.

I tried to correct checksum in WinOLS but coreccted file does not write via OBD and K-suite gives me bad checksum error during write.

The TRICODE method:

K-Suite does have a protocol that supports this ECU witch tricode, so I got this ECU on a table and did all K-suite instructions (setup: KESS v2+ Tricode adapter+ Tricode cable) but again during file save after read it gives me checksum error. Saved file is and archive ant file size is wrong: 648 kb, inside this archive there is a file "Log" that is 2048 KB, but this file is password protected.

Does anyone tried to read this ECU via KESS v2 and ODB/Tricode ? Yes i have installed all Visual C++ runtimes 2005/2008/2010 so this is not a issue.

Thank you for your'e replay. I specified that my KESS is a v2 with 5.017 frimware and k-suite is v2.47 as far as I know there is no newer KESS friwmware/PCB or newer K-suite for Chinese clones. I know that my Kess should R/W EDC17C42 but somehow it dosen't giving me checksum error. What OS are you using ? XP/7/8/10 32 or 64 bit ? What is your'e KESS v2 frimware and k-suite version ?

aaah ok then reinstal your kess software
First install 2.08...for example...and then install the new version over it.
It is not needed to start the older software.

I read and write this ECU with Ktag and them with Kess without problem.

Ok, so I did just that. First installed v.2.23 after that I replaced all the files in 2.23 directory with v2.47 files. I will test that today and see if I get checksum bad error. What OS are you using XP/7/8/10 32 or 64 bit version ?

You probably have newer SW version in ECU and your KESS can not make CRC.
I guess the only solution is Recovery.

I had that with Genuine New Trasdata writing JCB DCM3.3+ ECU. I have sent request to support and one hour later upgrade was released - CRC added.
