Please help me in turning an IMMO off for testing purposes on our spare ECU. We are trying to tackle a very intermittent problem in my dad's car and we want to try if it can be caused by a faulty immobilizer. Many thanks in advance.

I am quite sure you have the same cluster. Maybe you will solve it with this link. Solution from Switzerland with pictures.

So the first thing to do. Read out info about the cluster part number. There is a high chance that you have immo2 on this one.
Then all the immo stuff is stored only in the cluster. Not in ECU. IMMO3 has info ECU, and forwards.
