i need acivate Needle Sweep audi a3 2008 in eeprom 24c32
any help please

sometimes coding dont work so eeprom manually modded is only option

Try but ive not tested this method

1 - Open the Dashboard ( you will find a video here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUqjr-mGeAw )


2 - Locate the eeprom 24c32 , connect the clip and read eeprom


3- For Unlock Lap Timer


Go to Adress 00000060 and activate bit N°5


4- For Unlock Needle Sweep


Go to Adress 00000061 and activate bit N°2




You can finish here by writing change in eeprom , closing the dashboard and activate function by Vag-com


or else you can continue for directly activate function in the eeprom without using a vag-com (see below)




Activate new function in eeprom :


For activate Laptimer in eeprom ,
Go to Adress 0000002D and activate bit N°1


For activate Needle Sweep in eeprom,
Go to Adress 0000002D and activate bit N°0


write the change into the eeprom and close the dashboard.




Activate unlocked function by vag-com :


With VCDS software ,




Go to
Open module 17-Instruments
Open Adaptation - 10
choose Special function 1 in the list (or go to channel N°36
Activate xx? for Needle Sweep
Activate x?x for laptimer


Save and enjoy

You will also find in the FIS menu > settings > indicators options for enable/disable these function in the menu

hello i would like to activate the needle sweep looks awesome and i saw it on many many cars (fiat tipo also has it) real shame that audi dissabled this fature on 8p, as i am a little OCD i hate to dissassemble my dash i have friends with various tools (avdi,vvdi,smok,xtool) any of these can read the eeprom from obd?

I dont really understand the term

bit N°5
bit N°2

so for example in the picture attached at 0x060 and 0x061 its 92 and 5A, anyone be kind enough to explain what that needs to be changed to as per the guidance, done a little bit tweaking in the past and i guess im having a thick moment lol :p

92 becomes B2 with bit 5 activated and 5A becomes 5E with bit 2 activated.
