If anyone is foolish enough to go down this rabbit hole.... let me save you some time.

1. Most software one can 'find' - just doesn't work. Fact! You need 2.0.9.0. Thank you Russia! If you need to add a newer database just add it afterwards...
2. Use XP not emulation
3. If you are trying to use a VAG 409.1 cable it must have a FTDI FT232RL chip (Many of the Chinese copies use the ch340 chip and lie about being ft232rl (Literally had to open the cable, and use a magnifying glass to check, and then send back and buy another cable...) Strangely the ch340 chip worked on an old Clio... But it's just not worth a gamble... Get the right cable and right software. I bet 100% of problems are just wrong software + wrong cable.
4. Don't assume anything with the program as its all in French - check online and use google translate.

hi thanks for this advice . have you come to ddt2000 database where ecu's xml files in english description .thanks
