Mpc556 brand new cant program

Please help help . Replaced mpc5556 mcu in ed16 and now cant restore file because neither ktag nor bdm100 can identify ecu help help

Are you sure, that the NEW MCU is OK?
Are you sure, that you solder the NEW MCU properly???
Are you sure, that the ECU board is OK???

80% not soldered properly 20% ecu dead from the begining ... this is my bet :)

Mpc got damaged when i connected the bdm wrong it fried the mpc for sure . But i have backup of eeprom flash and mpc in seperate and single file with ktag. But now ktag nor bdm 100 cant identify ecu so i cant write only reaad . I can read the mpc ,flash and eeprom and write back what i read but cant write the original . Its a misubishi rosa bus edc16

You can't write even if you change only 1 byte in what you read previously?

the mcu is brand new never bin flashed before so ktag cant recognize it . it says unknown ecu when i try to flash it says not allowed

Try locating same ecu full backup in one file for ktag and restore it, then restore your separate files.

Ktag is a good but stupid tool, it can't write when it can't identify ...

Have simmular problem yesterday, today was fine (Silly) . Just what i do i little bit go up with voltage External power supply... yesterday tried 12.3v today was 13.1v and without any problem.

I used ktag, RESTORE than chhose file 558kb flashed with success

Solve it fg tech wrote it without identifying it ask if i was sure i wanted to proceed with writing. Everything is back to normal now

Is anything regarding VIN immo etc saved in MPC556? I have one edc16c9 completely broken in a car crash but eeprom and am29bl802cb have survived... Wondering if I upload dumps from those 2 without touching mpc556 to new ecu will cause any issues ?

Ktag is a good but stupid tool, it can't write when it can't identify ...

alientech does this to protect ecus from stupid users which will write wrong files. but I agree they should have a way to bypass this check and force write.
