Kess 5.017 eu HQ clone Simos18.2 wrong Filesize

Hello Friends,

i have a HQ eu Kess 5.017 red pcb and tryed a golf gti 220 Ps simos18 with 4,5 MB

i know there are some problems with this file size !

is there a solution or fix for that problem ? without buy Original one ;-)

my ktag original can do this ecu in boot

but is it possible to change the 4,5 MB file to 4 MB an write to ecu ?

4,5 mb is only for genuine tool, the clone support only 4 mb.....each 4,5 mb file need only to be cutted from address 400000 to 480000

Hello, I've tried the solution that Carmageddon provided. Ksuite 2.47 raises the following error : "file incompatible with the ecu". It was a Simos 18.1 ecu, and checksum was corrected after splitting the file. Someone has tested this solution ? Or any hints about what is wrong ? Thank you very much !

My friend, you take too much risk... if you have geniune ktag, do it with boot.

Or buy geniune tool, believe me..
You can try and try and try with clone or hq clone or whatever, but it will give error...

I am able to write 4Mb simos18 ori file to a vw golf 7 without any problem but when I try to write tune file it fails during writing but I still can ID and recover to original. Did anyone succeed writing a tune with kess clone?
