Iīve been asked by a friend to remap his car. (VW Caravelle 2.0TDI 102PS 2013)
I just want to make sure that I dont run into uneccesary problems along the way.
I have a kess v2 2.08 and the tricore boot kit(Genuine PCB with clone MCU)

I couldnīt find Caravelle in the car list. Iīm guessing it shares the same ecu as Transporter?
EDC17CP20?

Iīm not sure if the car has new software because of dieselgate and if that can be a problem.
Can I check that with VCDS?

I guess I have P165, P187 and P241 to choose from.
Any experience with this setup is welcomed.

Found one more protcol when I looked around..
Plug-in 427: EDC17CP20 IROM TC1796

Is there a way to find out if I need this TPROT protocol?
What happens if I try the other protocols and it turns out the ECU has TPROT?

You need a VR file for this protocol.
Use KTAG and boot the ecu that's the safest way

make ID with protocol 459, then we can find original file for your car to write by obd2
But if you want be 100% safe make read with ktag

Thank you for your answers.

I want to use my Kess cause I trust it more than my China ktag clone.
Can't I use protocol 427 with my tricore module for kess V2?

Yes you can use your Tricore module.
