Yeah Meat-Head Motors found just a diode works on the E36, don't know about E46

What about the Merc 3 wire ones!

Mercedes is Mercedes!!!
2 options:
1. replace with new original seat occupation sensor.
2. replace with EMULATOR for seat occupation.

About BMW E46, E38, E39
I use only diode
white---|>|----blue
anode catode

I do not have emulator for mercedes.
This information I know from forums.
If there is problem with mercedes seat occupation sensor there are not easy ways to imitate.
1. buy emulator for it
2. buy NEW oem seat occupation sensor.
No diode, no resistors or similar :-(

Mercedes Benz occupied seat recognition sensor emulator on eBay (end time 04-Jan-10 19:12:29 GMT) (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mercedes-Benz-occupied-seat-recognition-sensor-emulator_W0QQitemZ130349875602QQcmdZViewItemQQimsx q20091206?IMSfp=TL091206161003r26369)

By the way Fiat Stilo is same like Mercedes :-(
No easy way to emulate, there is special tool for Fiat.

For child seat its safe.
If you never use child seat then just place diode with 47k for ALWAYS occupied

So if you have a dustbin lid and you don't want it to have it's own 'bouncy castle' then what size do you use?

Hi duds,
i know that the diod with resis.. sound good with BMW coz there no more than 2 wires blue and white.
but any body tested it with mercedes?
coz normally mercedes occupied passanger seats consists of 3 wire plus ground and signal.
helpppppppp

If somebody have problem with BMW e90 seat recognition here is the resolvation.
u must have only 4 rezistors.2*1kohm and 2*1.5kohm.
In e90 u have 2 senzor circuits.the electronic generates impulses and if somebdoy sits at the seat the circuits becames nearest(the 2 plastic circuit(folie)) and transmits the impulses.
but if u transmit the impulses with an resistor u are done and the seat is "ocupated".
With 2 resistors simulate the 2 circuits and with the other 2 u transmits the impulses.
i post the image.good job for everybody.

I have problem with BMW e60 525 seat occupation sensor but i don know how to solve it.

There are 3 (3 white) wires going into black box, 2 ( blue and red) wires to seat occupation sensor.

I tried to put diode and resistor on output ( Red and blue) but same problem, unknown error in DTC
