Hello DK -

I have a question for the experts on Fords - does this vehicle store engine hours? And if yes, where - dash, ECU, tranny? I think this model has a 93c86 in the dash.

I asking because the dealer Service Manual shows an entry for mileage and one for hours...

Thanks in advance!

Yes it does, but I have no idea if it is in the dash or ECU, etc.

Best bet, reset the trip odometer to eliminate that from the equation, read the dash, drive it for a while, reset the trip again and read it again.

If it stores the engine hours in the dash it will be easily seen.

Good idea, thanks! On the dash, you can't display hours on the 2013 Limited model. There is no such option. Looked even in the manual... This doesn't mean they are not recorded.....

I shall do the drive test.

If there is no option to display it, then what is the worry?

A good scantool going through the different modules live data should tell you if they are even viewable.

I used a SnapON (latest soft) and couldn't find anything.... Scanned the tranny, ecu, etc. but maybe don't know where to look.

My buddy used a Smelecom OBD tool which read the mileage but the hours shown were like 1-2 million.... Maybe no hours? Or maybe Smelecom cant read hours correctly for the Fords?
