been causing quite a shit storm with the usa locksmiths and rightly so , no shock to those of us in uk , our distributors have been selling to all and sundry for many years now , so the norm here , we are also well used to diagnostics being cheaper in europe and anywhere else than in uk .

basically distributors and manufacturers believe its justified to screw us

I bought a used MVP in Ireland that wouldn’t work in N.Ireland as it was registered in a different country. Called Hickleys with security code, seriel number, passwords etc and within an hour it was registered to me in UK and working.

Legally I don’t think they can block it in U.K. unless they stipulate for US use only at point of sale. For example say you worked in America and moved to U.K. they would surely have to unlock it for U.K. use

Loads of us buy keys and tools from China so wouldn’t be a big deal to ship tool from US to U.K.

It looks like distributors rather than producers/developers they seem to be putting a crazy mark up on tools. I know one example is the little orange vag code pin tool. Bought mine for $60 yet a UK distributor is selling for £195 plus VAT.

Totally agree every company has to turn a profit but ?????????
