Hi all.
I have an odd problem that i hope someone can help me with.
Normally on my DM500C,when i press the centre "OK" button and go into one of the boquets i have a channel name on the left and to the right of the name in brackets is the name of the programme currently on air.
About four days ago this all altered,on it's own with no intervention from me or my wife or my son.
Namely when pressing the centre "OK" button and then entering one of the bouquets all we get on screen is a full alphabetical list of the boquet contents and that is it.Nothing in brackets at the side, just a list of channels, also the font size has decreased and all the boquets now fit on the one screen, whereas before they took up two "pages".
I would like the view back as i was as i find it a pain having to go through each and every channel just to highlight in the info bar what is currently on air.
As i said i hope someone can help with this,or at least explain how/why the listing view changed like it did.
Thanks for reading and for any suggestions.

Connect to your box using the web interface and then use the web remote to change your settings. If you press the 'video' on the web remote you should be able to change the view.

Thanks for the reply Curious 123.
Although i have done flashing of these boxes and upgrading of keys etc i'm a bit lost as to what you mean by "web interface"
Also on my remote control i do not have a button marked "video".
Thanks again.

On your pc open your web browser and type in the ip address of your dreambox. Look for something like 'Box control' once you have managed to connect to your box with the browser and try and find remote.

On the dm600 remote you just use video button and it changes the layout but there is no video button on the dm500 remote so you have to use web remote.

In the dreambox network settings do you a have a gateway configured?

Gateway is listed as 82.28.237.200

You could try changing the network settings from DHCP to manual and add the address as it is but change the gateway address to 82.28.237.1

DHCP is unticked, but i will try altering to 82.28.237.1 as you suggest and give it a try.I'll post later with the result, thanks again.

You may need to do the same on your pc.

I am confused but if you have router then why not connect with a straight ethernet cable through your router instead of the crossover cable? Also if you have a router then you can assign an static ip address to your dreambox so you always know what the ip address is on the box.

MY box is downstairs in the living room but my pc is upstairs in the spare bedroom,i suppose i could connect the box upstairs but i would like to be able to connect downstairs using my sons laptop. One thing i noticed is that my pc,my sons laptop and my router ALL have the same IP,whereas before they were all one different ie 192.168.0.1 - router 192.168.0.2- my pc etc etc.I don't understand why they ALL share the same IP now.Could this be the reason i cannot connect to my box ?

If all your devices have the same ip address then they will all conflict with each other when connected to your home network. You need to set your router to DHCP and all your devices to dhcp. It will be easier to connect to your dreambox through your router at least until you get your problem resolved.

I have managed to resolve the issue of all my devices having the same ip address, not sure how it occured but they are all different now by one digit.I will try and access the web interface again, hopefully it will now connect.
Many thanks for your advice and patience Curious123,it's very much appreciated.

Glad to help m8. If you can't resolve this through the web interface than you will need to re-image your dreambox.

Nope,no luck.all ip's set differently and still no connection to my box can be established.I think at this point i will just give up and try to live with the problem (for perhaps a day.then it will bug me again).
Cheers.

UPDATE !!!!!!!!!
Connected box to my router, after untangling a spaghetti mess of cables around the back of my tv.Got into the web interface straight away, seems the connector on my sons lappy may not be configured or simply not working at all.
Connection problem now solved but i'm still unable to alter the channel listing layout on the box.
Thanks a million to those who helped, especially Curious123.
Have a great crimbo and a happy new year to all.
