Hello,

This is my first experience after I bought Kess v2 clone.
I am getting following error while I try to read ECU via OBD2.
"Wrong Security Code"

605486

Tried Software version 2.47.

I searched a lot on internet for fix and following instructions like, leaving ignition on for 30-40min and try to read ECU again, and also "SETUP" option to change read speed is missing from Menu as You can see it below.

605488

Is there anything I can do? I am stuck on this for last 2 days and got no luck of reading ECU although Kess supports my vehicle ( Ford Aspire ).

Any help is appreciated.

as a first job, don't play with edc17.
To read that ecu, you have to open it and read in BDM

Thanks for the replies.
Should I just return this tool and get KTag instead? I am completely clueless here.

yes edc17 only partial read by obd , full read in bdm, open lock (one bit) and than you can write partial read into ecu and ecu dont lock

If somebody locked ecu with tuned partial read, you can write original file and ecu works again...

and like say centrohifi edc17 its bad toy to play with :)

What a sad thing to hear :(. I thought my little car shouldnt be having high tech ECU. But looks like I am wrong.
It will be better to just return the tool and pay tuner for remap I guess?
I was excited to learn about tuning but I will have to wait until next car.

you know if you dont kill ecu now, maybe you kill your engine with bad remap...

BUT if you realy want, pay for chip, read you ecu and compare with your original file... Here comes the way of you learn.

Its a hard way to learn chiptuning, i thing neverending learnig for eweryone

One final question before I start procedure of returning tool back.
Kess software shows that my vehicle is supported via OBD2 for read/write. Then why its not working on this case?

First connect battery charger!

Will it solve this issue for now? If Yes, I will buy one stabiliter/charger for battery for sure. Right now I am not even sure that this tool works with my car.

becouese it have high tprot version, just don't play with it you will brick your ecu, if you want it remaped just drive to someone who knows what to do
