Hey there, one month ago i've purchased audi a3 8p 2004, the instrument cluster displays SAFE where the trip metter should be, radio works without any problems, what i have find out about it: someone who had this car before put the immo off, i was at Audi dealership, they charged me 122€ after i've asked to put the component protection off, but they wasn't able to do it, they said they can't see a vin number on their software due previously changed ECU, so they did nothing just took my money, one of my friend tried adaptation, took CS, VIN and put them to the cluster, nothing changed, tried to make a virgin cluster, still nothing.

The problem is not about the SAFE message, actually i don't care about them, but other problem is with power windows and sunroof, which works only 10 minutes after ignition was turned on, then does not work until i restart the ignition, i've read in this forum about this issue, the issue was because of SAFE mode was active, so i do not know what should i do, audi dealership was not able to remove component protection, should i change ECU and try to adapt everything again, or what? :apologetic:

Guess your problem is immo off and ecu has immo data for compoment protection that does not match cluster.

That issue with windows not moving happend to me after trying a cluster swap in same A3 8P, when i put new white cluster on it the windows not move, the gasoil lever not move, ... and of course car not start with safe on display. Making immo off on ecu solved problem of not starting car, but all other problems remain.

So what i made was put original cluster again, read with fvdi all related immo data in cluster, PIN, MAC, CS, VIN, KEYS, CONFIG, POWERCLASS, ... all info showed by fvdi tool. wrote down and prepared to insert ALL in the new cluster.

Had to dismantle the cluster, read the micronas processor, read the eeprom 24lc32 and with that in hand i went again to my fvdi tool, he could instert in the 24lc32 dump all the data from the original cluster in the new prettier one. then uploaded modified 24lc32 dump to the chip and assembled the cluster.

Almost all started to work as it should, car started with ecu in original state (not immo offed), no safe on dashboard, windows moving again, but gasoil lever not working, that finally was solved by changing in gasoil deposit the float level unit with the one that match the cluster and all worked fine since then.

Good luck

Thanks for answer, my gasoil lever works, car starts because immo is off, only windows/ sliding roof does not work and Safe mode instead of trip metter. I think i do not have oroginal cluster, i am guessing the one i bought was already replaced before. That's the main problem.

Then pray the ecu was immo off on its own eeprom and still keeps the immo data you need to align component protection and make your windows work.

Try extract the data i told you from the ecu eeprom and then implant it on the cluster, relearn the keys and you should be good to go.

What if i would update ECU eeprom dump data with new one from different ECU, and then try to adapt The ECU with cluster?

You need align the data for windows to work. So do it the way you can/prefer.

But i think adapt dash to ecu data and remove immo off from ecu is easier way and no need online dealer account access.

Extract vin pin cs mac from ecu and put in cluster. Then relearn keys to cluster.

Guess problen can be CS 7th byte that is not available from ecu as far as i know. Need extract from a key??? (We assume cluster was swapped and data on it is not the real one).

So i just need to get the immo switched back on in Ecu and then match it to cluster and then get key coded correctly, am correct?

[QUOTE = nemoku; 3539256] Bu yüzden immo'yu Ecu'da tekrar açmam ve sonra kümeyle eşleştirmem ve sonra doğru kodlanmış anahtar almam gerekiyor mu? [/ QUOTE]
