Wall Street Journal just recently broke a story regarding "Predator Drones"
You know those US Military unamaned spy planes that gather intel on the jihadis so US and UK troops dont stumble into ambushes and can pinpoint viable targets to prevent serious civilian casualties?
http://www.justicewithpeace.org/files/u1/Predator2.jpg
Well as it turns out they transmit video back to base completely and entirely ENCRYPTION FREE!
So if you happen to be a happy little mujahad sitting up on some godforsaken mountain pass wth nothing but a laptop, satalite dish and some $30 russian software (http://www.skygrabber.com/) also available via torrent, rapidshare and p2p for free no less.
So yeah you too can patch into the tactical feed and use the very same tools to protect our boys against them :( follow them all the way back to base and do your very own reconicance on the us dime.
Worse still is that the US military knew about this as far back as conflicts in Bosnia in the 90s. The Pentagon in their infinite wisdom decided that the enemy would be just too stupid to figure it out and thus did absoloutly nothing about it.
Think about it for a miniute, Cable's just updating to N3, DVD's, Blu-Ray, Video games, Digital TV all have fairly advanced encryption schemes and more is invested in them every day to protect the Entertainment Industry.
Yet an industry that RELYS on watching people then blowing them up whilst keeping our boys safe from harm have had absoloutly nothing invested to prevent feeds getting hijacked...
The world is a crazy place.

yeah they worry me.
ive got friends and family out there over christmas right now and i could build a set up for a couple of hundred that would let me find out where theyre targeting and set up a nice little ambush to kill em all.
All thats needed is a cheap laptop, a portable dish and a little software to watch everything, figure out where theyre targetting and mobilise all my rpg touting headcases to blow up anything in range.
You just need to follow the drones incomming and hide from them, which is really easy if you see exactly what they see.

I'm not saying there is no truth in these posts but what I will say is...
The military know what is going on... sometimes they allow things to be "seen".
It is an intel game between both sides. who can gather the best intel on the other side.
If you have seen the film "men that stare at goats" which is loosly based on fact btw, it is a bit like cat and mouse. rumours and false info.
You have to trust that the military know what they are doing.. I am not saying they are perfect but they are not stupid either...

That's the Yanks for you though, bolt the front door up to ~~~~ with the strongest locks and the latest sensors and tripwires yet they forget to lock the back door and leave it unguarded and unlocked....but is all as it seems ? Often not....

A relative returned from a tour of Iraq , maybe 2yrs back , his armoured battalion briefed with the U.S. commander in Basra , who were at that time , controlling the airspace in the sector .
His battallion were given clearance and set off to thier next station .
Mid journey they were attacked by an american "tankbuster" aircraft , which opened fire with cannons , forcing the UK crews
to shelter under thier Vehicles , which all had Union Jacks draped on top of them !
Oh Yeh ! , trust the military !
Turns out , the pilot had discharged his rockets in an engagement 15 mins earlier , or they'd have probably all
died at the scene. Fortunatly , he returned to tell the tale !:dong:
