I tried reading 93c86 from the research done here. can someone confirm from the picture that I read the right chip

I think volvo1 matches more closely from dumo i pulled from here and vvdi does recongize that dump. so i must be doing something wrong

That's the right chip. Maybe vvdi doesn't support that version of CEM. Tango does not support all, only CEM nubmbers with SN higher than 00005XXXXXX. So please check CEM serial number or try to read 93c86 with other prog. I will check that file tomorrow in Tango.

There's a book called Advanced Automotive Immobilizer Programming. I'm sure some of you have heard of it.
It touches briefly on this specific system with serial numbers under 5. I contacted thw author to inquire further and he said he has never heard of a programmer capable of reading the BIN from those CEM.
Just my .02

Based on my experience, the CEM with lower serial numbers tango doesn't work. you need to use either Lonsdor or IM608. Also Different machines get connected to the MCU in different ways. For example Lonsdor Reads the Flash from the MCU and then You read the Eeprom. you save both files and upload them to losndor server. then you load the file to the car via obd. That i Think the losndor dose to crack the password of the CEM and then programming the key via obd. The IM608 Uses a similar method but the connections are different to the MCU, I mean different points it depended on the mask of the MCU this the only programmer that I know that depending on the mask you change the connection points. now if I were you. I would really listen to oskars268 (https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/member.php/444511-oskars268)
, he really knows what is talking about when it comes to volvos.
