Jimmy try add CAN ID48 with SBB. I think upto 2012 no precoding needed, just standard CAN system. From 2012 (after facelift) it's NEC UDS system for sure.

Thank you both for replys MVP says doesn’t do it I’ll try Supervag and SBB and maybe Vagtacho. I’ve a SBB and CK100 in the van and never been plugged into a car yet lol

supervag coverage list does not say obd on these at all , it couldnt be clearer , these are spares by obd with a working key , or if all keys lost its cable svg149 needed , so clocks out and read with nec lead.

http://www.supervag-key.com/vehicle-coverage/vehicle-coverage-supervag-key/

how did you get on jimmy , all sorted ?

Hi Rapid

On Supervag it says AKL done OBD 2009-2013 on black Supervag key screen 3 boxes ticked green last box says AKL OBD in White writing.
I’m not doubting you saying clocks out just describing what it says on their site that’s where confusion lies for me and put this post up.

Never done one of these but have been asked to do one. It says on videos to have a 12 volt supply to cluster how is this done is it through the SV149 cable ?

If so is cable just hooked up to a spare car battery in back of the van ?

the link in my post above is to their official coverage list , and ibiza 6j chassis on this year clearly says in last box svg149 lead needed if akl.

no not car battery , a 12volt power supply a bit like you use on cloners etc , but 12v one , 12v power supply plugged into mains then jack of power supply plugs into the svg149 lead in its female jack plug and supervag plugs into the female obd on lead , nec plug plugs into clocks , plenty of videos online and tradelocks have some guides on these as well

Hi Rapid

Thanks for info 👍🏻

Yes looking at videos shows procedure but not a lot about the 12 volt supply or after procedure is done what happens next

I was looking at their general page of makes and models covered said OBD and thought it strange.

I’ll order a mains-12 volt adapter but won’t be here on time the MVP mains adapter should do it I’ll check voltage on this see if it’ll be a temporary solution

Do I need any other gear or only Supervag and SVG149 cable ?

Put into programming mode, clocks back in car then programme through OBD as normal?

Rapid

Here’s the list I got. On white list you sent says no on black list I have says OBD but I know it’s clocks out. Bit confusing when their website shows 2 answers I thought they’d maybe done something very clever with last update 🤔

i go by the coverage list on site , supervag is good but not good enough to be the 1st to crack these all by obd , if someone does it will be someone else that does so. it is a quick job with svg149 .

Rapid the list I posted here ( see pic ) is off the official Supervag website that’s why I posted up but had doubts as had good idea be a cluster out job

I’ll give it a go clocks out doesn’t look overly complicated just wanted to clarify the few points I wasn’t 100% sure about.

I’m like your middle age apprentice ffs lol

Appreciate all the help thank you 👍🏻

well worth buying a few clusters and having some good old fashioned bench time , this is what i did when i first got the unit , stops the head scratching and simplifies things once at the job. i have around a dozen vag clusters in my workshop for practice , they also double up for stock for cluster changes , so never a wasted purchase .

each to there own , but id always put in the bench time as pays dividends

Hi Rapid

Totally agree nothing worse than being on a job half cocked had one last week guy works in IT and sat in the passenger seat the whole time watching every move. Luckily all went smooth as had my homework done. You can look like a complete amateur even when you do everything right due to unforeseen circumstances like a fault in the car but I try to minimise this by studying up on jobs I have on. I’ll get a few clusters ordered of fleabay won’t be wasted like you say. Still doing the odd 1/2 day in breakers as well with the Lishi picks enjoy this as there’s no stress involved

Common Jimmy!
Don't loose money by refusing 5he job if you have the right tools to do it!

Just go to the job.
Cut the key.
Ask customer for a cup of tea (I never drink tea but just to get rid of the customer).
Take the clocks out.you need a t25 (or T20,not sure).take off the plastic around the clocks.you will find 2 screws at the bottom and maybe one on top(this one I found it only on Ibiza).
Take the cluster in your van.
Ask customer for some more sugar!
Remove the back plastic cover from clocks.you have 3 X t10 screws (not sure about the size but are small).
Get a 12V power supply with a male plug.many clones are coming with one of these.
On the nec cable from supervag you have a female plug for 12V.
Connect supervag cable to the cluster.
Connect 12v and turn on the switch from nec cable.
Open supervag.will automatically detect ibiza.choose "key programming".

Very important!!

From your phone find your clocks model for pin positioning here http://www.supervag-key.com/gallery/pin-positioning/ .

Press "retrieve data on transponder" and follow the prompts.
After positioning the pogo pin a window will pop-up asking to save the file.
Save it.leave supervag as it is..don't unplug or close the program.
Open tango.go on vw-supervag 2009-.
Load the file saved from supervag.write new key.
Tango will generate a new file, save it.
Back to supervag go to " write data on transponder" follow all steps(same as reading).

Put everything back on the car and that's it!
All this will take max 30mins.
Take the money and leave..
Remember, you paid the tools to make money not to keep them in the drawer!
We all have to start somewhere!
Good luck!

Go on YouTube and watch some videos too..

Thanks Comizelu that’s a comprehensive guide much appreciated.

Like the tea idea lol

If goes tits up ask for a vodka 🕺

Don’t have Tango that’s the problem I thought you just put it in service mode then put clocks back in car and programmed through OBD with Supervag as normal.

There’s another step to create dealer key then ?

Looks like I’ll have to stick my hand in my pocket and get Tango. I take it the clone is scrap need original?

Thanks again mate 👍🏻👍🏻

stick to original , it recieves free updates and does what it says on tin , buy the clone and you will at some point regret it

Thanks again mate [emoji1303][emoji1303]The dealer key will be made automatically by tango.
CS,locked and added to dump.
If you don't want to spend too much on the transponder programmer your best option will be vvdi2 basic.works alright but tango is better.

Also if you buy vvdi2 you can add authorisations like VAG immo 4 and 5,BMW,mqb..

But just don't buy a clone!

Thanks you both for info 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Not a fan of any clone just had to ask

I’ll look into original Tango suppliers to see what’s what and get the cheque book out. I think lockdoctor does original 😬😬😬😱
