about dreambox 500-s and technomate 1500+ CI

hi i have recently just bought these boxs the dreambox DM500-S is brand new a week ago and it is one of the pure black ones im sure its a clone it said on the add it had gemini installed on it and the technomate 1500+ CI i bought from ebay 2nd hand anyway i have been told dreambox will be no good for moving motor i have a technomate 2600+ motor and a 1 metre dish and a 550mm wall stand and unfortunetly i have to put dish up round the back of my house and my bedroom is on the other side so this guy said to me what id be best to do was set the technomate up 1st like to move dish then loop the dreambox to the technomate and just move the motor all the time with the technomate so to do that i would have to put the technomate in my sons room then hook a cable up to the technomate going all the way to my room so even if i done this what does it mean does it mean my son whould have to wacth what i was watching or does it mean he could watch whatever he wanted and i couldnt . someone has also mentioned to me about buying a dual lnb as i only have a single one so what would be the benifit if i bought one of these as i have never used sat before just cable all the time and prefer to have the dreambox the one to be changing the motor from my room so is this possible as i havent installed it all yet but a guy i was speaking to said the technomate would be the best option to set it all up with so could i set it all up through the technomate then once done ok swapp boxs .

i know this is a lot of questions guy's but im disabled so realy i have to get a friend to set it up for me and none of my friends have a clue about sat boxs so realy i want to get it all right the 1st time around eh ?

also 1 more question about the dreambox it said on add it has gemini on it but will this just mean a default firmware on it and am i best to flash nabilosat on it and how can i check if it is a good gemini image on it and maybe i dont need to flash a image on the box

your Dreambox is a clone..
you are ok having Gemini 4.2 on
the box will move a motor..

if you have bought a dreambox and dont know much about it then you will need to do a lot of reading as it's not the best box for a newbie..

to get the most out of it, i.e. watch channels you need to be able to do the following easily..

Make your ISP IP address static
Set up a DynDNS account
Port Forward your broadband router
Set up a home network with your Dreambox on the network
FTP files and data in linux format from your PC to your box

I had a dm500s and never had any problems moving the motor. I prefer the Pli image though a lot of people have prefence for the Nabilosta image. Best thing to do is hook it all and see what see what happens, here is athread you might find useful download file from post #24.
