EDC17 Newbie- What equipment to buy?

Hi, I bought a 2008 Skoda Octavia with EDC17CP14. As far as I read, the vehicles before 2009 have no tuning protection. But I'm very unsure because the car got the dieselgate update.

Version: R4 2.0l TDI G000AG 9978)

I have some experience with old Audis ECUs. Unfortunately, I do not know about EDC17 at all.

I bought Kess v2 and KTAG as EU clones now. What else do I need? A BDM frame, can you recommend something? Do I need a power supply for the engine control unit when it is removed from the car? BDM adapters?

you can work via obd in that ecu ,is a ezy witch good tool,witch ktag you need open the ecu ,and have chanse for damage him :)

Is that 100% safe?

I'm afraid to destroy the ECU. Of course I would prefer to flash without having to open anything .. Doesn't the diesel update have any effect on the Tprot?

By reading with Kess I can not determine the tuning protection as far as I know.

see in id witch kess have update or not ,if you cars have update kess chaina kill ecu ,but only after updete the ecu! pcm flasg / mag pro / autotuner /ori kess / cmd can do it via obd ez :)

"Is that 100% safe?" Well with clone tools NOTHING is safe!!! And with your lack of understanding the procedures you want to do it is more unsafe than anything....

To damage while opening vag edc17... you have to be berseker :D.
Clones never safe.

If you want to be safe and you have some skills to open ecu properly, just Boot it up with Ktag clone.
