Hello to everyone, I need an info before I'll make a mistake, I have a golf 6 2.0 tdi 140cv made 11/2008 and I have to read and write it with my kess 5.017, Nox updated, I can go with free mind or it's possible to be protected after the Nox upgrade in volkswagen? Thanks a lot to everyone

Thanks a lot to everyoneIn Bosch ECUS TPROT is inside flash and all tc1797 is upgraded. EEPROM to new 4 numbers version and infernal flash. When protection is in EEPROM... Siemens PCR 2.1, is not altered but in flash I think is protected again. Get the full read of your ECU.MPC infernal flash and EEPROM and you could go back. You can modify your sw versión to new. Of course in boot mode and applying RSA protection to checksums.
Regards!!!

Most people say that if car is before 2009,you do not have tuning protection.

Best way to read and write this ecu is in boot mode. This method keeps you out of trouble. Some people sayd edc17cp14 before 2009 year don't have tuning protection but car when go to dealership and update the software of ecu, can make tuning protection active

I did a backup 4 years ago in Golf 2.0 tdi 110hp and the Guy decided not to tune It. He went to VW for EA189. Finally the only place in World that his oem file was,was in my PC. I change in eep actual kms in first EEPROM for odometer with avdi and changed in flash the 103756XXXX sw version, and correcting CHK and RSA. In boot Mode. Perfect

I always would recommend full read in boot Mode. I hace a Seat Ibiza 6J CAYC with PCR 2.1 and my brother passed ea189. I hace EEPROM prot disabled after upgrade but my read is partial obd and I need to come back pre EA189 software and I don't know how to make it

I rely on software number. If it is 10373xxxxx, it is safe to write by obd. If it is 10375xxxxx, then it should be protected. Maybe I am mistaken but it has worked for me.
