LoL yes I know no worries i fix it by pushing on the LCD itself I use a small bridge that I put inside the hole and solder it on the leg of the LCD but if I do a bump test it come out... Should I try to solder also from the other side of the board?

Now it's perfect but a bump test and it's out... So I will remove all the old solder joint and apply new one as the picture you show me I had all those tool handy :-)https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190813/7c0bea407faaa90975189e98c2bbd01a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190813/4ea0ae069d12bc13a100a8e7408d5fed.jpg

The joints inside the red box are the connections for the high wattage resistors for the display.

This info is all over the internet and a common problem.

Just google Crown Vic dim odometer, tons of info and videos.

It's fix now... it's not dimm permanently, it's come and go dim ... If I turn off and power on it might come dim or not... Only by pressing on the odometer display it will be fully bright so dunno what's could be the culprits

Had one of these today (2007 Grand Marquis), Display was completely dead. I remembered this thread so though id post up what the fix for mine was if anyone else is looking in the future.

Underneath the display there are 3 resistors that had broken solder joints. I had to remove the display to access them. R78,R79,R80.

While i was there i also re flowed the solder joints for the high wattage resistors Cluster has posted above.

Cluster works now.
