CASCADE Emulator with GM vehicles question

I noticed from 2006-2008 the settings make no sense, it doesnt ask what engine or car model.It just gives a list with letters that dont pertain to anything.Does anyone know what they mean?

The letters refer to the vehicle platform, for example Y is a Corvette.

This is the 4th number of the VIN.
