ECC16U31 Possible with KESS V2 5.017 via OBD?

Hello my friends,

did anybody know if it possible to read EDC16U31 from Passat B8 1,9TDi 105HP Engine Code BLS with Kess V2 5.017 with Red PCB via OBD?

Is it necessary to put external Power supply to the Battery?

Or is it better to write on Bench with external power suuply (if this is possible?)

Sure, it's possible via OBD. There is no need to write on bench. Power supply is always a good idea.

read ktag(backup), write kess.

Problem is that i have no bdm Frame :-/ Otherwise i would do the same as you told.


you will not get a qualified and 100% answer on your question...
china produces this clones in hundreds of factorys...
they use compoments on pcb as they find it on the free market...
even when 2 x kess clones came from the same supplier, the chances that there built in differnet components are high...

so if you´ll be succesfull, nobody can you give the answer...
even a power supply is no guarantee...

tested today succesfull with my Kess V2 5.017 Red PCB. For someone who is interessted in this: Productiondate of PCB (is written on PCB) is 04.01.2018.

Done it with clone, just set the speed on minimum, for write external power supply is strong recommended

If write FLASH via OBD, turns the cooling fan. I think....
