Hi,

If you have a HD TV (connected via HDMI) then you can install Yellow Dog 6. It is very easy to use. Installation need minimal user input, and it?s very easy to switch back to the PS3?s XMB as it?s a drop down menu item.

On the other hand if you do not have a HD TV set up then I?d recommend kubuntu. I have not yet managed to get the 8.1 version to work, but 7.04 works a treat.

You can also use kubuntu on HD TV?s, but you will have to edit files using nano editor.

Personally I prefer kubuntu as it lets you modify anything you want, where as Yellow dog is very restrictive but very user friendly.

Which ever OS you choose, I highly recommend you back up your PS3 (via the utils) as you will have to format the HDD and allocate some space for Linux (10GB).

Hope this helpps.
