Please can any one help, I have been trying to update the firmware on the Eurovox Max (Blue). I am using a 9 pin to 9 pin NULL modem lead, and when I try to run Unified Loader, I get Waiting for a response from the receiver. I have tried plug and unplugging the power, leads etc. with no joy, as per guides.

I have also tried to configure the COM port for a communication from computer to computer but this also makes no difference.

Does anyone have any, ideas / clues as to what I maybe doing wrong here.
Any help would be most appreciated as this is really frustrating the **** out of me.

The com port on your PC will need to be setup for com1.

Make sure the box is unplugged, click download on the loader then start, plug in the box and it should kick in.

I'm not great with the eurovox and you probably already know this...

Are you sure that you have genuine 'null modem cable'?

Hi guys,
Null modem lead, NEW from skytronic. Says on label "Null modem lead with 2x 9 pin D sockets. Reversed wired. stock code 503.087".

How do I tell whether it is a clone? . Says on it Euro-vox Max. The receiver inside ( by the RF IN) which shows through the air fins at the top is long (covers about 12 fins). I have looked on various sites and this type is known as Max Blue. There is also a sticker on the bottom " RAY384CXA**** ****** " Not sure how to tell if its cloned.

hi does anyone know how to fix the problem above??

its been asked loads of times but i cant find where someone found out what
the problem is?

im trying to loads the firmware for a eurovox 500opvr.
im using the null modem lead that came with the eurovox,
plugged in to the serial port on my comp, COM1
the power is on the eurovox and its in standby ---- is showing.
ive cheked the cable 10 times but still when i hit start on the software
its just comes up with

"the reciever was not detected"
"if you want to downlaod the firmware in boot mode click
ok and AC power on your reciever"

click ok and it just hangs waiting for the reciever.

any ideas?

thanks

actually figured it out, its was the hardrive.
by removing the hardrive and trying again it worked.

cheers
