View Full Version : Audi A4 B6 2004 def error

Hi all, screwed up here, got this

Audi A4 1.9 tdi B6 - 2004 model
RB4

Tried to correct mileage by using vag eeprom programmer v1.19g
set newmode from 6 to 4
read eeprom / decrypted ( saved bin file)
then write eeprom /decrypted

cluster went dead , all lights out , speedo went halfway and stopped

tried to write saved file back/ write eeprom/ encrypted

cluster came back alive with immo light flashing and def error
vehicle not starting , key light flashing.

any help would be greatly appreceaited.

Hi, andys1977.
To make cluster working, you must write back encrypted file if jou have it!
if not, try write decrypted file and after set cluster back to adapted mode 6,
in new mode cluster not communicate with engine ECU.

@armi , thank you for your reply
first time read , i set cluster to new mode and then read decrypted file
and make backup.
then write back decrypted file , after that cluster went dead , speedometer went halfway and stopped.

then i write back as encrypted way and cluster comes on but with errors

Audi crypted clusters RB4 are very complicate but vag eeprom 1.19 is good program for those clusters. Backup you must always make as encrypted (read encrypted), before setting to new mode. Writing back this backup file make cluster working 100%, even after ERROR , SAFE or completely dead. If i understand right, you have only decrypted file , this file has not cryptomask for this cluster, i need more time to help you to search similar bin in my audi clusters file collection.

Try correction with Digiprog 3....

with original vagcom it is also possible
