Reeeal nooob question here, but you got to learn somehow!.

I have been sent a stage 1 tune file for a tdv6 range rover sport, i have a kess clone. Do i need to load the orig file into winols and then import the tune file ? trying to load the tune file its self doesnt work. car wont start and no comms . i then have to reload the org file in recovery mode.

as i said dumb question but i am learning.

cheers !

does it ask you to load the original file before you write the modified file this is how it will correct the checksum through the kess. When the dialogue box opens you select your original or read file.

No, after doing a full read i attempt to write the tune file, and get a message warning me- the programming of this file containing the string cmd-mdc may block the ecu.
if i do proceed to write it will brick the ecu and i have to go into recovery. its a seimens sid

the file you have been given has been read with cmd or another tool and almost is generic file. post original file here someone will make., or ask tuner to make custom on your original file.
