Are the tokens for MVP pro going to come down in price anytime soon due to the fact it’s not getting updated any more ?

It’s a bit shit that Smart Pro has a lot more coverage yet tokens are the same price as the MVP

A lot? I wouldn't say so... :P

And I don't think that token cost for MVP will drop down. Still MVP Pro is and will be in use for next years for many people.

its not the AD way to lower token prices , the best way to get cheaper tokens is to attend hickleys annual show in may/june and buy there

if they lowered on mvp the ruptions from sp users would mean they would have to lower these too , smart pro charges tokens for some functions mvp pro doesnt unless they have started charging for these on mvp now as well .

MVP sucks tokens like an addict now. A lot of things that never took them before does now. it also freezes the screen on a lot more stuff then before for certain actions that forces you to shut down so you can not go back in to the menu to do it agian or other stuff token free. It also will tell you "success" no matter what on a lot of stuff when its not even close to being successful and eat your token. On top of that, it is now pretty pointless to try and contact support to retrieve unfairly consumed tokens as they do not respond. I couldn't even get a hold of support by phone or email to have a damaged unit repaired. If I didn't have a few hundred tokens left in the bank I wouldn't even bother repairing it honestly.

Don’t use the MVP much now but is handy as a back up tool. The few times I did use it I also noticed says success when it has failed and eats tokens. I remember you saying about cheap tokens at Hickley’s show Rapid but not that cheap when I’ve to pay for flights/digs etc. Tokens should be dropped to £5 a pop and might get used more. Better selling 100 tokens at £5 than 10 at £20 but can’t see this happening anytime soon.............

tokens can be bought with a phone call. Attending is not manatory. Bought 200 in 2018 for 5-6 each

at hickleys show they state you must attend to buy the deal tokens , but they do sell them to customers who cant attend over phone or email as the sale is king with them . i bought a good lump of them a few years ago luckily at £5 each , at the most recent show they were £6 or £7 each plus vat at show price , the price has increased since the release of smart pro.

when i first got my smart pro , i noticed tokens was required for alot of vag pin reading , which was still token free on mvp , i had an old beetle that SP took 2 tokens to read incorrect pin of 0000 , plugged in mvp and it still read 0000 but this function was token free, i then used vag tacho which sorted it , so alot of pin reading functions that was token free now requires tokens to be used.

they are either in need of more revenue , or have too many share holders to please , it is unlikely they will reduce token prices outside of show deals , it is more likely they will find new ways of taking more tokens from you , your hope of having permently low tokens is highly unlikely .

i still like having an AD unit in my arsenal , but only as a back up unit and for some ford , its been many years since it was a go to machine .

Yes very strong on Ford be great if they would launch a token free Ford only tool I’d defo buy but no chance of this happening I thinks.........

with smart pro you can buy the ford software outright and use this token free as you own it , with mvp this isnt the case as purely a token unit , where smart pro you use what you own token free and tokens on rest , the other other way is to buy ad100 pro with smart ariel and full ford package

Interesting didn’t know you could buy bundles on smart pro and token others.

TDB1000 Ford is getting better hopefully they’ll keep developing this package done a 15 Transit Custom spare key job yesterday in 2 minutes.

both tdb and truecode have made good inroads on later ford , but not to the level of AD yet , all 3 are way ahead of avdi on ford . im going to take a punt on ecu works ford software as claim to be doing the models that nothing else can yet .

if you have TDB or truecode with full ford , then you have alot of token free ford coverage already , so theres only a handfull of models you need AD for , as doing these via tokens can work out cheaper than buying the full ford package on AD as only a matter of time before your token free options catch up.. though at present id say AD have the edge on ford , i wont say number 1 on it yet as the ecu works software does look interesting and claims to do more

Yes Abrites seem to be pulling their finger out but still not for me as expensive and too many complaints atm. TDB are definitely coming on and well worth the money. I’ll look at ECU works and Truecode to plug the gaps. Also looking at OBDSTAR pad as a multi coverage tool

KD - for clonning ID48 - now I have XHorse mini with one token free every day that is OK for me


and just bought VW Helper with very resonable prices on the tokens
