Hello all,

I was wondering if i could get some help with a strange issue this vehicle has.
It is a Golf 6 with EDC17C64, part number 04L 907 309 B.
The fault is, Sometimes the car does not start. When the fault occurs, there is no communication with the EDC17C and all other control modules cannot communicate with it either. You can normally just turn the key off and wait 5 sec and tun key back on, and engine will crank and run OK. All codes can now be cleared.
This car is totally original and not modified in any way.
I have replaced all ECU power relays and no change.
When the fault occurs, all power supplies and earths, CAN lines are present at ECU. Fault is within ECU.
Temperature does not affect the fault.
Does anyone know what specifically goes wrong with then internally to cause this issue?

Many many thanks
;)
