i should be moving into a flat with sky and cable connections present.

i am already taking my 500c.....

but is there anything i could connect to the satelite connection for free sat or something???

I Think your best sticking with the cable, the only thing you could do worth noting with the satelite is a freesat box.
You really need a motorized dish for the sat, im in the same situation, ive got a dish on my flat, but no access to fine tune the angle of it as i'm top floor.

theres not much on sky which aint on cable so id stick with cable.

If you brought the Open Media box with the cable and satellite tuner you could always swith to satellite to see what freesat channels are available through Sky and still carry on with your cable with the flick of a switch.

thanks for the help guys, may sell the dm box and get an openmedia 500c/s box....

does it use the same image as the 500??? and the same dreamup software???

what would i need to do to get sat up and running??? what sort of channels can i expect to get???

It needs two different images. One for cable (dk1.1a) and another for the sat side any image should do. I think.
