Recoding Volvo airbag

What do I need for recoding the airbag in Volvos to switch of the light ?
Software and hardware suggestions please.

1 You should have all new airbags and belts tensioners on their places!!
2 you should have anyone usefull diagnostic equepment to erase DTC.
Most of Volvo cars have no crash data in SRS ECU.
If nevertheless CRASH data stored - you must erase it manually removing SRS ECU and reprogramming it!!!!
Look for Airbag V1.0 - Volvo declared there !

For diag the best is LAUNCH
For Repair ecu, you need have knowledge of electronic and a good programmer.

I am thinking of getting me a XPROG-T, will this work with Volvo SRS ECU ?
How do I know which chip inside the ECU that stores the crash data ?
I have worked with programers before, but not in automotive applications.
A friend of mine have some Volvo SRS ECU that needs crash data removed, so I am going to try to help him, just because I find it interesting.

If you have view of Chinese clone Xprog-M - I doubt, that it works well!
Let you think about UPA-USB from the manufacturer!!
To find out, what chip contains crash data ,it is necessary to dismantle and disassemble SRS ECU...... if you have not found chip - make a foto of label on the ECU and the board, then show it here....... somebody can help you!!!

This is the programmer I have laid my eyes on.
It doesnt say anything about being a clone, but Im not sure.:dong:
If it is, I`ll have to look for another.
Could anyone verify if this is a clone or not ?

can you get a virgin dump for the Volvo controller?
new ones come blank not virgin!
If you need to download new files to a Volvo using VIDA and a tool (DiCE or VCT2000) you will need a current subscription to get the file.... EXPENSIVE!

Airbag 1.0 should eliminate the need for virgin dumps, right ?!
And if needed I can get hold of some virgin dumps I think.
Can you use virgin dumps endlessly if the ECU has the matching numbers ?
If so, I will post all I can get hold of as soon as I get this up and running, just my way to pay back a little to this community :cheers:

Ordered my Xprog today, so just have to wait for it so I can try it out.
Volvo virgin dumps shouldnt be a problem to get hold of for me, cause friend have a bunch of srs ecu:s
