Hi

I have information for people who bricked ECU with writing mod file without correct checksum.

After write bad Flash file ecu first run but if you stop and second run - ecu lost comunication.

The first of all.

If you write file and calculate checksum with cracked WinOls - not working - you bricked your ECU.
Only KTAG, KESS or CMD calculate checksum OK when writing mod file.

If you write bad checksum FLASH file in the EEPROM 95p08 or 95040 save DTC P0601 - checksum error.

The ECU checksum error is stored with a "01" at hex 1C and 2C in the 95040 EEPROM.
The ECU checksum error is stored with a "33" at hex 1C and 2C in the 95P08C EEPROM

If you have no access to your EEPROM you must desolder it.

If you have changed both values, you must recalculate the LoHi checksums at the end of both lines.
These are at hex 1E/1F for the value in 1C and 2E/2F for the value in 2C.

in this situation You must write repaired eeprom ( two eeprom's bad and repaired in attachment )

and write flash file with KTAG in boot mode ( KTAG ask for original file before writing FLASH and calculate good checksum )

AUDI A6 2.8 ME 7.1.1 8E0909559H 0261207839

ECU is ok.
