my caddy 2008 1.9tdi BLS has only 40k on it.....but keeps hesitating up to and especially around 2500 rpm. for a split second it dies then shoots off........worse in lower gears. Can be quite dangerous in traffic. Just Been fully serviced with all filters and oil changed. Up to now I've changed the MAF, Map and boost N97.ive decatted it and egr deleted it.....still does it!!
even re-mapped it......still does it!!(but worse...so original map back on)
all vacuum hoses appear sound. I've also, stripped the turbo and all seems ok.....vanes moving freely. Except when you pressed down and moved the arms there was a tiny bit of "graininess" feel on one or two, but they moved freely when flicked sideways...(however, I could be wrong, but I still think it may be turbo related??........)
It's genuine miles.it was a disabled guys who hardly used it......then off the road for a year due to a minor rear quarter accident. Obviously Fully fixed, and then I bought it.
can anybody suggest what it may be other than the above?
if I floor it, it boosts fine ,but try to drive it slow......it does this hesitating, almost cutting out........if I hold it at 2400rpm/2500rpm it stutters like hell.......until it gets past that rpm.
actuator works fine, and no fault codes in ecu!
boost pipes/system have had a smoke test and no leaks.

removed the actuator boost pipe and clamped it off.....took for a good test ride..........and still does it!!! so possibly not turbo related??

anyone see any issues with the uploaded original map file ??

ive changed the in tank fuel pump and the fuel filter housing head.........still does it!!!

update: changed all injectors for known good ones........and still does it!!!

anyone know anyone in the north east who can dig into the ECU to see if there are any issues????

update: just swopped out the ecu for a known good one to test.......FINALLY FIXED IT!! IT HAS A FAULTY ECU!!

For test, can you disable the turbo so no boost, then take for ride on clear road, just boot it
see what happens, ok it not going to be happy, but your issues are at low rpm

hi.
thanks for the suggestion........removed the actuator boost pipe and clamped it off.....took for a good test ride..........and still does it!!!
so that probably rules out the turbo i think.
thanks anyway.

Ok, what about getting a MASSIVE stack of DK THANKS buttons, all lined up
to about 50 ft in height, then drive, try and hold the fault, whilst trying to keep the thanks in a pile

see if pings light on with code.

have you seen okd fuel filter on floor with your own mince pies?

That notwithstanding he's still asking you whether you 1 have the decency to press thanks for him spending his time on you and 2 have you evidence the fuel filter was really changed. Both good questions.

Look at VCDS groups 13,18 and 23.

Have you tried it on the red line in reverse?

Not sure on that car, but some cars have flap in intercooler so no boost if cold, does it gave any flaps

mrtodd

Check rubber hoses, compensation for injectors (vcds 13), remove oil cap check pressure oil and listen maybe have one injector loosing pressure, chanke the o-rings.

no....just about everything has been tried and still doing it! :(
local specialist has sent off the injection values etc. to VW and is waiting on their reply............so the saga continues!

Can you get some form of inbred or furry animal to hold revs at that rpm
then where the wiring loom is behind the radator and infront of the “clutch lever”
grab hold, and shake it, shake it line a poloroid picture, hey yar.

or poke it with a big wooden stick

can you get Roy Orbson to drive all night, then look at live data. Engine rpm
see if it drops

take a video with your phone for sliw motion play back

Have you got access to VCDS? If so, I’d do some data logging, it should point you in the right direction?

I had something similar on a 2.0 Caddy BKC, turned out to be a boost leak but it never threw a fault code.
