Do I have to remove EEPROM from the board?

if you dont have a soic8 clip then yes you will have to desolder it from board

You must desolder memory b58253 and add the post.
ps. You must buy memory 24c02 becouse b58253 is not program if you do not have goood programer.

just get a programmer and a soic8 clip then you dont have to desolder the eeprom will make life much easier

As stixo said, b58253 cannot be rewrite. See if your memory is 24C02 or b58253. After desoldering the eeprom and reading, if the eep is 24c02, you can modify some values from 33 to 60 and get immo off.
If the memory is b58253, find a 24c02 from ST or atmel(the best) and write modified eeprom and solder back. Always remember and mark the position of the eeprom before desoldering it.

Hi,
Do you know a link to which EEPROM I require as there are a few different ATMEL versions with different product number endings. I have read and de-soldered the old B58253 chip from the board and have a copy of the file.
Thanks!

Does anyone have an EEPROM dump for this immo as the read I took does not seem to work :( Chip is now damaged and will not read. I have a 24C02 soldered onto the board now so ready to code a immo off file into. Thanks!

I have 028906021DK from Seat Ibiza Cordoba 1.9 TDI need immo off, i buy chip 24C02. Please tell me how to disable the immo? Who has the firmware? Or instructions on how to disable the immo? I bought a programmer for the 24C02 chip.
