hi all,

customer original ECU got water damage - he send it off to company to have cloned ECU to new unit and posted back to him

now all dash lights up but has F on dash, and wont turn over/start.

I wonder if i recode all modules, AIRBAG, ICM, BCM and re-register key, it will get it going ? or something deeper here?

Any input??

many thanks

It is manual or maybe easytronic. If F you must find what is the reason. Read DTC's

Try to re-code all modules you need the pin-code.

I had F showing on a new (secondhand) ecu, same part number as the original ecu, on a Corsa D, it turned out that the new unit had some water init too(little bit), with old ecu, plugged in , no F showing, with the new one F on display(both water damage), so i swapped the eeprom and some parts from the old ecu to the new ecu and the car started.

ps, when F on display, i couldn't get any comms with the ecu>

recode all units is usual procedure to exchange only engine ecu? not work as old one, just reset and merge with new pin?

And what if the new ECU is encoded on easytronic and since you don't have plugs, sensors, motors ... you get a nice "F"?
