Hello from Ireland,

I am new to the forum so please be kind to me :).

I am currently having an issue with my car and can't seem to find anyone that can help me around where I live so I think my best bet is the internet.

I have a bmw 2004 e65 730d. I am trying to swap the ecu edc16c31 from the eu4 model - e60 530d. I have both full ktag dumps from original and donor ecu.
I have tried to write the eeprom from the orignal to donor and align immo with inpa but the car gives cas/ews error. I have to specify that ecu's have different hw no.
If I fully flash the donor with the original dump, the car starts properly.

You're probably wondering why I need the ecu swap since the car works with original ecu - well my problem is that car is not performing properly since the map is heavily modified.
The tuner advised me that original ecu which happens to be eu3 model, isn't capable of reading the map (I don't know the exact reason) and the eu4 ecu would work.
Engine has a few upgrades as well as suspension, custom made sway bars etc.

I have the donor ecu back to original but I have flashed it with winkfp to match my vin number. If you guys could have a quick look and see if anything is possible to be done I would highly appreciate it. As this issue drives me mad, at least if I knew that what I'm trying to achieve is impossible I would give up and stop wrecking my brain.

Hi guys, thanks for fast reply.

doctore - Unfortunately I don't have ews data, I only have ktag, kess, and inpa with bmw cable. Is it possible to retrieve the ews data with these tools?

alecsander114 - If you can fix the map I have no problem trying it and in paying for the service.

ps: car's drive-ability is fine, just that ecu only reads approx 80% of the map, when checking with test0 and comparing requested vs desired it does match. But for example, when 100% throttle the map is suppose to request 1800 rail bar pressure and i think approx 3.5 absolute boost, but the car is only producing 2 bar absolute and 1600 rail pressure. All the values seem to top off at a certain percentage. It seems to me anyways, like ecu is entering some kind of limp mode.
