hi all i have a 2011 328xi e90 with msv80, i lost all the keys and made a new one using cgdi, key fob works and dash turns on and will crank but wont run, dme code 2f49 manipulation protection. no codes stored in cas.
i believe dme cas sync is out of alignment , i tried using cgdi sync elv and other options that are in it with no success, ive tried battery reset 20 min and then used launch x431 pad2 to try to align cas and dme but it fails everytime citing communication loss loss of voltage or engine start attempt made. (battery charger on 13.7v) didnt try to start though :crushed:
i have read out 32 digit isn for both dme and cas and 4bit isn but i dont know enough to mess with those or what to change or if changing them will even help.
any help is appreciated thank you!!!

i read it using the cgdi application using the key box via obd port. 32 digit codes for both dme and cas, and a 8 digit 4b code

ISN in DME and CAS both match perfectly? i do believe alignment is not needed on cas3+

read out using the cgdi application, it shows ability to edit and read and write isn in both control units

ISN must match perfectly, crypto issue im guessing when you made key. match isn and it will enable DME terminal

so just to confirm and add to the story... as a freakin stroke of pure luck i got back one of the oem keys ( just traveled over an hour to go get it back). popped it in and started right up no issues, not sure if that changes anything or not, but i would still like to try and figure out how to make the key i made work so i have a spare incase
and also by making them match you are saying copy the 32 digit code from DME isn and paste into CAS line and write the isn for cas correct?

ok another update, after starting it up without issue with the oem original key it seems dme cas issue has resolved itself by using the factory key, i can now use the other key i made as well it starts and runs the car perfect now too.. strange

the ISN your tool will read out will change depending on the key that is in in.
a properly matched key will decrypt & will read out the correct ISN
a not properly matched key will read out wrong ISN
so for instance if you have 2 OE keys and use them to read cas ISN, they will read the same
if you us 4b to make new key then it will not have decryptt and read out different ISN
so if you are all keys lost and your tool lets you make work key to change ISN and they match then great good to go
but then your existing key no longer works
so now that you have known working key, your isn from cas is decrypt and matches your DME ISN
so though your ISN in the DME are the same and never changed, the way it reads out is changed by the crypto of the key you made and is made different
now that you have working key, use cgdi to make new key in spare slot (3 and on)
dont do anything with ISN
i dont use CGDI so I can not help you exactly what steps in their menu, but if you got this far im sure you can figure that part out, making new key with known working key is much easier then all key lost

you were right it was terminal still enabled, i unlocked the new keys (3&4) using cgdi tool and then generated dealer key using the working key copying, and re tried them with cas terminal off and they now work! GREAT SUCCESS!!
