Hi guys, :hmmmm:
Just wondering has anyone else come across this problem.
DM7020-Si doesnt boot up and only displays 2 black blocks. After close examination when i push down on mainboard area highlighted within the pink square and hold down it boots when power is turned on. It allows me to do all normal operations even flashing new images onto it without error.

Ive seen some threads stating about power supplies giving this sort of problem, but in this case the power supply is ok. Tested in another DM7020 worked ok and other supply did the same error.

Question is would you guys agree to a dry joint problem here and even cracked track on board?.

Can anyone advise what the two chips HYNIX HY57V561620CTP-H are they the flash boot chips?

Hope this is also help to others thinking about power supplies...who knows :hmmmm2:

Cheers Tony :unionflag:

Hi,
Before thinking the worst. Try checking for dry joints, as thats what was wrong with mine. Some have been power supply related ive heard. As you can see by the pictures, i found mine near the memory. If its still under warrenty send it back my friend.....:nurse:

Good Luck

same problem with the two blocks.

DM7020 was instable, so flashed it by serial.
During setup of new image again a system hang.
After power-up two black blocks in LCD.
Removing 2.5 inch hd-drive and CF-card did not help.

(no warranty)

I have a problem with my DM7020-Si
Seem as if there is no power getting to the main board at all.
I have tested a few cap's on the board but cant seem to find any faulty one's.

Anybody any idea's or suggestions?
