It's read by removing the chip so no tool to perform checksum.

I'm told the car starts then stops, they only flashed the ecu with an egr off tune, any ideas?

On ori dump the car starts up?
The dump read in the programmer must also be saved in the programmer.
When you read after OBD / bootmode, you write after OBD
